As the moon passes gradually between the sun and the earth, it creates an astronomical feast for the eyes. At the midpoint of the eclipse, we see the contours of the moon’s rugged surface, feel a rapid plunge in temperature, and hear the living world around us suddenly fall silent. Measured against the vastness of the universe, we humans are as insignificant as grains of sand! (Photographed from Fuli Township, Hualien County.)
